High School Novel - Advice For Writing For High School Students

High School Novel - Advice For Writing For High School StudentsHigh school students are at an age where they should start thinking about what type of book to write, and if they have the passion for it. A good teacher can help get them started. I was able to see this with my son, who wanted to write a novel while in high school. Here is the sort of writing advice I think they need to follow.First, you should sit down with your teacher. This is crucial. You should be prepared with questions such as what do you want to do with the book? What sort of format will you use?If you come out of it saying, 'I know a serious book needs to be written,' then you are onto something. Your goal is to write a book that is interesting, entertaining, and enlightening. This is not a one off topic for your novel. The next step is to get into character, and flesh out the main characters and plot. You need to go out and talk to people to find out what sort of questions they might have. You don't need all of the information right away, but it's better to know it then not know it at all. Then you want to look for a topic you would like to write about. If you are interested in writing about people's favorite subjects, then your main focus should be on these subjects. You will likely want to read and re-read a number of books on the subjects you choose to write about. There are also subjects you can do research on and look up, but remember that you want to use your imagination to create things. A good book writer does this all the time. They don't just copy from the books. They make up a story.Once you've decided what you want to write and researched what it takes to write a book, and if you are willing to write in a certain format, you are ready to dive into high school students. Take advantage of your teacher's time. Don't let him or her to hang you out to dry. Writing a high school novel can be exciting, and rewarding.
